SHIMLA: Tree plantation drive by Lion club Shimla with forest department

At Lions Club, Shimla “We Serve” with this motto and actively involved in civic, cultural, social upliftment

of society. Besides this Lions Club is aware of mindless exploitation of Natural Resources by mankind.

SHIMLA: President Lions Club, Shimla Lion Man Mohan Verma informed that planting of trees is helpful in maintaining ecological balance and conservation of soil as well as trees release water vapour into air in a process called transpiration which brings water vapour to earth in the form of rain. In this direction Lions Club is organizing tree plantation drive in & around Shimla every year to spread awareness among masses through Banners and other sources for clean environment. Members of Lions Club organized tree plantation drive in village Dhanain, Mashobra Block in association

with H.P. Forest Department and more than 120 saplings of Deodar, Khanoor, Walnut trees were planted by members and their families. The motive is not just to plant but also to take care of trees to grow from time to time. Lion Sufal Sood was chairman of the project and President Lion Man Mohan Verma informed that besides President Lion M.K. Sharma, Secretary, Lion C.L. Sankhyan, Treasurer, Lion D.K. Chauhan, Lion P.S. Panwar, Lion K.D. Chandel, Lion Gopal Vaid, Lion Vimal Sood, Lion J.P. Sharma, Lion K.R. Sharma, Lion Umesh Sood, Dr. Rajesh Chanana and other members along with their families actively participated in this tree plantation drive. President also thanked Mr. Anish DFO, Mr. Azit Kumar, Range officer and other staff members of H.P. Forest Department for their Co-operation.
