Annual general elections of Shimla Bar Association conducted successfully
SHIMLA: The Annual General Elections of the Shimla Bar Association for the term 2026-27 were successfully conducted on June 02, 2026, under the chairmanship of Sh. Dinesh Chauhan, Advocate, along with Ms. Sunita Sood, Advocate, Satish Sharma, Advocate, Rohit Steta, Advocate as members of the Election Committee. The elections were held to fill the posts of President, Vice President, and Joint Secretary, while the post of General Secretary, Treasurer and Librarian was filled unopposed.
In the election for the post of President, Himanshu Panwar, Advocate, secured 320 votes, defeating Anu Tuli, Advocate, who polled 236 votes, by a margin of 84 votes.
For the post of Vice President, Sh. Sher Singh Roach, Advocate, received 378 votes, while Ms. Navita, Advocate, secured 172 votes, resulting in a victory margin of 206 votes.
Anuj Kumar Tanwar, Advocate, was elected unopposed to the post of General Secretary.
For the post of Joint Secretary, Dimple, Advocate, received 293 votes, while Santosh Bala, Advocate, secured 255 votes, resulting in a victory margin of 38 votes.
Hitender Thakur, Advocate, and Abhishek Khimta, Advocate were elected unopposed to the post of Treasurer and Librarian respectively.
The elected office bearers of the Shimla Bar Association for the year 2026-27 are as follows:
