SHIMLA: Indian Association of Muscular Dystrophy Solan organized an Awareness campaign TO CREATE AWARENESS OF MUSCULAR DYSTROPHY a special Awareness Campaign involving various educational Institutions ( please find the list attached) on 7th September at 10:00AM at Muscular Rehabilitation Centre(Manav Mandir) Solan Kothon near ‘Jatoli Mandir’.

Children from various private as well as Govt. institutions of Solan town joined this Awareness Campaign. All the participants reached IMDRC at 10:30 AM
They visited the 7 storied building and received the knowledge about management, rehabilitation, prevalence and various issues related to muscular dystrophy.
The president of the organisation Sanjana welcomed the guests and briefed them about the working of the organisation through power point presentation.
Testimonials of a few patients who have been benefitted by the services of the organization were shown and the video of inspirational song of the organisation was played.
After this the chief guest Sh. Jagdish Chand Negi said that he will incorporate the activities of the organization in different programs of district Solan.Deputy Director Education district Solan also said that he got highly sensitised and never knew the gravity of Muscular Dystrophy before. Chief Guest Addressed the gathering at activity hall of the Integrated Muscular Dystrophy Rehabilitation Centre where participants and the families affected with muscular dystrophies have come to attend the rehabilitation camp from various parts of the country, teachers and principals of various institutions, the members of IAMD and staff IMDRC . A gathering of around 250 people attended the awareness session .
The schools were provided with awareness material along with packs of juice and biscuits and in the end a group photo holding the placards of slogans of muscular dystrophy was taken by volunteers of Shoolini.
This event will help in spreading the awareness about the rare disorder muscular Dystrophy. Awareness campaign is another effort to connect the masses.
