Himachal Pradesh Adjudged winning state at National level for non communicable diseases

Himachal Pradesh adjudged as the winning State for the project Digital Health Approaches for Non Communicable Diseases (NCDs) prevention and control as continuum of care in Himachal Pradesh” at National level

SHIMLA: The Government Spokesperson informed that in the 4th Digital Transformation Awards Summit conducted today, the State of Himachal Pradesh received the “Governance Now 4th digital Transformation Award”. The State has been appreciated at the National level for the project Digital Health Approaches for Non Communicable Diseases (NCDs) prevention and control as continuum of care in Himachal Pradesh”.
The Government Spokesperson said that the project of “Digital Health Approaches for Non Communicable Diseases (NCDs) prevention and control as continuum of care in Himachal Pradesh” is being implemented in the State. He said that after successful pilot test the strategy was rolled out in the entire State from 01.04.2019. He further added that till 31.03.21 the risk assessment of more than 23 Lakh persons (54% of the entire +18 population) has been enrolled in the E-Health card software.
The Government Spokesperson informed that out of the total enrolled population about 8 lakh people have been screened for diabetes, hypertension, oral cancers, breast cancers and obesity by the Health workers and Community Health Officers. He said that out of these 8 lakhs, more than 2 lakh persons have been diagnosed by doctors and about 50,000 are on treatment and follow up. However 1.5 lakhs have been counselled for lifestyle modification. This project has helped the department to have the State, District, Block and village wise risk assessment, disease burden readily available for suitable action and allocation of resources at all levels.
