Palampur: CSIR-IHBT provided ready to eat food to the migrant workers who have been stuck at Bharmat Panchayat in Palampur Sub-Division. The Panchayat representative informed that several families of migrant workers who are unable to go out for work amid the curfew, are now struggling for daily food. Dr Sanjay Kumar, Director CSIR-IHBT immediately took initiative to provide ready to eat food developed by the Institute. The food boxes were handed over to the Panchyat representatives the Up-pradhan, Mr Ajay Kapur, Ward Panches Mr Davinder Guddu and Mr Harmesh and Mahila Mandal Pradham Smt Poonam Bali.
According to Dr Sanjay Kumar, the institute is extending its services to the society through ready to eat food under the harrowing situation of COVID-19. It is pertinent to mention that the ready to eat food developed by the institute is chemical and preservative free, has health benefit like probiotic effects with shelf life of 12 months. “Our endeavor is continually to serve the society in whatever way possible in this difficult time” said Dr. Sanjay Kumar.
