Himachal: All the 17 samples taken for COVID-19 virus today have been reported negative which include 12 in Dr. RPMC Tanda and 5 samples in IGMC, Shimla. This was informed in the meeting chaired by Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur here today to review the situation in wake of COVID-19 epidemic.
The Chief Minister said that so far, 2673 people have been kept under surveillance out of which 811 people have completed the required surveillance period of 28 days. He added that so far medical examination of 196 people has been done in the State.
Jai Ram Thakur said that directions and instructions of Center Government should be adhered strictly to prevent COVID-19 and the arrangement of proper food and shelter should be made at boarder area for the people coming from other States in view of avoiding spread of virus to the people of the State. He said that toilet facility and social distancing should be adhered at these places.
Chief Minister said that people should be given information from time to time and it should be ensured that there is no scarcity of essential eatables. He said that social distancing is remedy for blocking spread of this disease and he urged the people not to come out of their houses unnecessarily. He urged the people to cooperate and abide by the efforts of state government to prevent likely danger of corona virus.
Additional Chief Secretary Health R.D. Dhiman said that Manoj Agarwal of Ms. Innova Captab Ltd., Baddi has donated 1,50,000 tablets of Hydroxychloroquine to the health department. He said that President, Chandigarh Distillers Bottlers Ltd. has also provided 700 liter hand sanitizer while HDMA has given 4500 Bottles of hand sanitizer to the department. He extended his gratitude towards them for their contribution.
